An old and historic country town in Ayrshire, Scotland. Its ancient heritage is now   under threat. But now a scheme to restore the Old Cross is underway. The traditional shopping street has not changed all that much in several hundred years. That is great for the community but maintenance is now   needed to preserve a vanishing life-style.
